Covid -19 Procedure Policy

Everyone of us have been affected by the Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic.

For our staff & clients safety, during lockdown we have been busy making our salon Covid safe to enable us to re-open in a safe and controlled manner, some of the things we are doing to ensure both staff & clients safety are as follows:-

Phased re-opening on Tuesday 14th July 2020

Phase 1. Manicure, pedicure, waxing, spray tans, massage & sunbed. No head treatments

Phase 2. All other treatments – 15th August 2020

Step 4. Final Stage of roadmap out of lock down restrictions 19th July 2021

We have carried out risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we continue to provide these safely. Copy of risk assessment at reception.

All staff have completed and passed the Barbicide Covid-19 Certification and/or the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. The certificates are available to view at reception.

All staff are completing lateral flow tests twice a week.

Re-design of our reception area to create 2m distancing, we have installed perspex screens on our reception desk and created a one-way system with separate entrance and exit.

All our nail desks and pedicure stations are located in individual rooms.

Therapists will be assigned a treatment room during their shift.

Our staff will be provided with face masks/visors, gloves & aprons.

You will have access to soap, water and disposable hand towels. Hand sanitiser will be available at both entrance and exit of the salon. We will also have hand washing guides at each sink to ensure correct hand hygiene.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets, door handles, etc are wiped clean with disinfectant products in between each client.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items and these will be disposed of safely after use to protect you from cross infection. Files and buffers will be thoroughly sanitised between each appointment with Isopropyl which is 90% alcohol and at the end of the therapist shift all tools will be placed in a UV cabinet for sanitisation. Each therapist will have two sets of tools to enable us to give correct timings for each set to be sanitised by using Barbicide (10mins) before being used on a client nails. All surface/cleaner disinfectant used will be tested to BS EN 14476 standard.

Ventilation if possible door/windows to be open to ensure air flow including mechanical ventilation where available.

Track & trace QR code available at reception should client wish to check-in.

We will always turn away clients with Covid-19 symptoms.

We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms are a priority using a laundry cleanser along with detergent.

We will not be undertaking any mobile treatments for the foreseeable future.

Will we not be attending charity/stall events for the foreseeable future.

Staff will complete a lateral flow test twice a week, and will email results which will be kept on record.

BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

If any of our therapists feel ill or have symptoms of Covid-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. We may be able to re-schedule your appointment with another therapist but with reduced capacity and staff this may mean that the appointment may not be on the same day and or time. This might also mean that we might have to cancel your appointment at short notice, we appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done for your own safety.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display and symptoms of Covid-19 – please advised us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. We will re-schedule your appointment for when you feel better. If any deposits have been paid this will be refunded or reschedule to your new appointment.

Please try and arrive on time for your appointment, try not to arrive too early.

We have free parking directly behind the salon, through the arch on the right hand side of the salon (looking at the salon), or directly opposite the salon they are free parking bays for the public to use.

Our appointment times have been modified to allow sufficient time for cleaning/disinfecting in between clients.

Please come ALONE to your appointment, we will be unable to accommodate friends, family or dependants due to our Insurance.

From the 19th July 2021 The BB team are happy to continue wearing face coverings around the salon, the reception area has a screen therefore the receptionist will not wear a mask unless moving away from the desk.

We understand that everybody has different views on the ending of social restrictions and the wearing of masks and moving forward with close contact services, therefore although it will not be a legal requirement from the 19th July it would be preferable if you could continue wearing a face mask but we also understand this is a personal choice.


To enable us to adhere to the one way system with separate entrance and exit doors, we will ask you to pay for your treatment when you arrive, cash and payments by card/contactless up to £45.00 contactless. Re-booking appointments can also be done at this time.

A QR code will be displayed on the reception should you wish to scan and download onto the NHS Covid-19 App.

DURING/AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

Our therapists understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in accordance with Covid-19 protocol before the start of your treatment.

As always we will try and make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have and concerns about your treatment please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you.

We will not be offering refreshments, magazines or our share a book to keep the risk of infection to a minimum.

You will be directed to the exit by your therapist when safe to do so, so we have minimal client to client contact.

We will continue to review this as the climate changes and evolve with it.

Cancellation Policy

After the last eighteen months, our business has been seriously impacted and we are so grateful to our wonderful, loyal clients for supporting us and helping us come back stronger than ever. We understand that life can be hectic and you may need to cancel or reschedule. However, we have been experiencing a higher than usual late cancellation and no shows. So we kindly ask you to take note of our cancellation policy, a cancellation within 48 hours of your appointment may result in a 30% charge of the treatment price, a NO SHOW will result in a 100% charge of the treatment price and you may be asked to pay a non-refundable booking fee to secure your next appointment.

We hope you understand that this has been a difficult but necessary decision and thank you for your continued support.
